How long have you been a Voice Actor?
Over 15 years!
How did you get into the business?
I started out as a stage actor and earned my degree in Acting and Directing for Theatre. Then I worked in radio for about 8 years and decided to combine the two worlds into my dream career – voice over! I took the leap and have never looked back.
We understand you’ve won some awards in the recent past. Can you tell us more?
I was so honored to have won an Emmy in 2015 for my work as on-camera host and voice over narrator for “Dtown”, a show produced by Denver8 TV that showcases the wonderful things to do and see in my city – Denver! I look at that shiny award whenever I’m having a bad day ?
Whats you’re favorite type of project?
I love any voice over project but I really get excited about those times when I can show some attitude in my voice – whether it’s sarcasm, humor or even really deep emotion click for info. It’s the actor in me that love to run free and be dynamic.
What kind of equipment do you have in your studio?
I just moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art isolation recording booth – it’s awesome! I work with a Road Warrior ISDN codec, an Apogee Duet and my Neumann TLM 67 mic. I record and edit in Adobe Audition and I love it!
What else should we know about Rachael?
I’m obsess with ALL things purple, so much so that my new isolation recording booth is painted purple with a racer stripe in the middle and my interior acoustic panels are covered in purple acoustical fabric ? Go Purple!
